We have one county that has mentioned the possibility of going to a 4 day work week. The don't have a large enough staff to "stagger" 4 day workweeks and still remain open 5 days a week. They only have three people in the office. They are having problems with their budget and just don't have the money to continue to operate normally.
I think that the slump in the housing and mortgage industries have seriously reduced the number of filings and they don't have the revenue they used to. This may become a larger concern if things don't pick up... especially in counties where the county government is already strapped for cash.
