Filing suit isn't always as easy as it may seem. I did get fed up with one client that stuck us for $2,000. I told my attorney I wanted to file suit. He asked me to send him all of the invoices and statements; I also got all of the information from the secretary of state for service and sent that as well. After about 2 months, I hadn't heard from him. I left him a voice mail and I got a voice mail in return... he referred me to an attorney/collection agency.
We tried a collection agency and they had no luck. I also reported them to the department of insurance and their underwriter. We have still not collected a dime. If its not a large enough claim, it seems that some attorneys aren't willing to bother with it.
Best,
Robert A. Franco
