Thanks Robert. It has certainly been fun researching the way things are done in Oklahoma.
I can see why Gary Jones, the head of the state GOP and unsuccessful candidate for state auditor, has questioned the value of the abstractor system in the state. It does seem to be quite a closed shop. From the way I understand things there, based on reading the Oklahoma Abstractor's Act and looking a the membership of the Oklahoma Land Title Association, it seems the work model that most of us on the SOT board employ would not be viable.
The fellow could have been clearer in what he wrote, but it was aimed at the local folks in Tulsa. I would assume from what I have read, that they are pretty well aware of how different their state is.
