I think that all of our clients are held to a rediculously low standard. My favorite clients are the ones that pay the exact amount of the invoice - no more, no less, no duplicates - in less than 30 days - i.e. the ones I never get to talk to ... I think we have two.
The latest fad with our clients seems to be hand written forms. I have been asked several times in the last week by multiple clients to print out their request form, hand write our fees on it, sacn it back in and e-mail it to them with our report, copies ... and OUR INVOICE.
Yeah, and if you need anything else you can just call my pager or drop a letter to me at the post office.
Many clients either don't read our invoice or pay what they want. Much of my day is spent re-sending invoices that were improperly paid and begging our clients to read them.
My latest way of coping with all of our clients is motivated by self preservation. I am making it my job to help our clients see how screwed up they are and become more efficient - after all, I need them to stay viable in order to get me to retierment right?
