George:  I've been out of town several times this month and just checked in again on responses to this post.  Sorry I didn't see your post and get this info to you sooner, but it looks like some of my fellow abstractors gave you the info you were looking for.  The company that sent me this e-mail was indeed LSI, originally Fidelity National.  They have offices in at least two California cities and one in Coraopolis, PA.  They have not responded to my e-mail refusing to accept their "late search" penalty.  The first time they actually impose such a penalty, or even make me go through their review process in order to get paid the correct fee, I will be done working for them.

It seems like its ALWAYS SOMETHING!  BLAH!
