We use Fax.com (formerly DataOnCall) for our faxing, both incoming and outgoing. For $95/mo we have a toll-free fax number and the fee includes 1,300 pages (If I recall correctly) and there is no long distance charges for outgoing faxes. We do a lot more by email, now, so we never go over the page limitation. It has been an extremely reliable service - I have been very pleased with it.
For our phone service, we switched to Vonage (VOIP). We have two lines with unlimited long distance for about $115/mo. We were paying about twice that with our local phone company. It has been a great money saver... however, it has its problems. Calls tend to cut in and out, once in a while. A few times, the "Vonage device" has lost its connectivity to the Internet and had to be reset. Most of the time, though, it works fine. While I'm not 100% pleased with the service, I'm not inclined to go back to the phone company and pay more again.
Best,
Robert A. Franco
