So I am going to try this again. Forget turning this guy over to the bar. Send a demand letter, certified return receipt, to the attorney, with all previous correspondence and copy the Commission on Lawyer Conduct or the Supreme Court of you state. Attorneys are held to a higher standard that the rest of us common people. They are officers of the court. I have done this and you will get paid. The South Carolina Supreme Court takes not paying bills very seriously. They contact the attorney immeditely and open a file on him. I have only done this once, but it does work. I had a friend of mine take an attorney to civil court because he owed her about $15,000. The Supreme Court shut down his operation, audited his accounts, and lo and behold he now pays his bills. He actually told the Supremes they did not have any jurisdiction over him. What an ego!!!! Hope you get your money.
