Thanks for the kind words, Pat. I am not on FaceBook, but I do have a LinkedIn account. Mainly, I did it to keep in touch with friends from law school after graduation. It is tough to maintain those relationships after everyone goes their separate ways, but if everyone keeps their LinkedIn page up to date, it won't be that hard to reconnect later. Of course, I welcome any of you with Linked in accounts to join my network. When I get time, maybe I'll try a FaceBook page.
We are working more on networking aspect here on Source of Title. The new service we will be launching in a couple of weeks is a bit like the status messages you can have on those other social networking sites. Although, since I don't use them much, I'm not entirely clear on how they work. But, our new service will allow users with companies to post special announcements about their company, their services, and the counties they cover to keep their clients up to date on important information. It is more geared to business communication than social networking, but the same principle applies.
Sometime ago, we also wanted a way to engage the individual a little more on Source of Title... rather than just the company. So, we created a new user profile page.... you can edit it by clicking on "My Profile" under "My Account." Here is my page. We added this some time ago, when we launched our last redesign of Source of Title. Those pages are accessible by clicking on someone's name next to their forum post. That used to be used to send users email, but now you send them an email by clicking on the envelope icon.
We wanted this to be a way for users to share information about themselves, rather than just their company. So, take a moment to complete your profile.
Best,
Robert A. Franco
