That is a great place for a honeymoon. Drive through the Fenwick area of Old Saybrook, some great old seaside homes there. Dock & Dine restaurant is right near there, or drive a few miles up to Essex and eat at the Griswold Inn, (founded in 1776). Essex has a nice little section of shops in a historic district, as well.

It is a great time of year to be there with the leaves changing. The Stony Creek area of Branford is about 15 minutes away, and has a nice sightseeing boat cruise around the Thimble ISlands.

Up the road in Higganum is the Glockenspeil, one of the best German restaurants I've been to in the country.

But then again, you may not have alot of spare time being it's your honeymoon.
