I agree Robert - however I think we have built in a little more leeway in terms of our fees. No Find fees, trip fees and rejection/correction fees are always a little weird.
We try to be understanding when it comes to stuff like this, but invariably a situation arises where a client trys to take advantage. It can sometimes be the difference between dropping off a filing that the clerk then mails back to the client and literally re-writting the document for the client after multiple rejections, sending it back to be signed and advancing fees all the while being yelled at.
In general we try to be very understanding, but sometimes additional fees just make sense. We will also occasionally charge a research fee if an order takes an inordinantly long time. We NEVER charge additional fees without dicussing it with the client BEFORE the additional fees are incurred.
The bottom line is that we are reasonable. If the client objects - we waive the fee. If it happens to many times, we wave goodby to the client or raise their prices - which usually amounts to the same thing.
I think what happens too many times in business (and politics IMHO!) is that peole try to make one rule fit every circumstance, and I just don't think you should do that. Logic and reason are the key.
