I don't think you are understanding the point of Watchdog's post.  I have actually received several emails from people who have told me that they don't post on SOT because they don't want want to be personally insulted BY YOU.  Personally, I don't blame them.  It is sad, because often times those emails contain comments that would be beneficial to have posted on the forums. 

It is a shame that some people can't behave like adults and carry on a conversation without being rude or obnoxious.  We all suffer from the loss of participation from that kind of behavior.
