What the letter says is that their business is primarily in the Real Estate/Bank owned property market.  And, that they have a large inventory of files that will probably never close.  They say that  "these files have been either moved to other title companies by a new servicer, or have been sold off in bulk sale."   So therefore, I would never get paid for these files.  They go on to say, " I am sure you understand that if we are not paid, we are unable to pay you."  And they say that in 2009, they took losses on exam/abstracting fees in excess of $250,000.

I'm not sure how many abstractors will continue working for them under these conditions.  I, for one, cannot work for free.  I wish this company good luck.....  I'm glad they at least gave us a heads up.
