On a slightly different note, but I believe still relevant. A fact I have come across time and time again is that people do not change with force. When a situations comes and slaps them in the face and someone stomps their feet and/or yells at them, an individuals usual first response is to then make themselves right. It seems that people like to be right, even when they aren't. So that's always fun. ABSOLUTELY hold your ground, maintain a high standard, DEMAND responsible handling of your particles and those things under your care.

BUT if we want to change the rapidly deteriorating ethics level and morals of society it is going to take compassion and a helping hand. Finding a way to educate and concurrently setting a good example. It is not bad to fire certain clients and hold your ground, that type of company will most likely close down within a matter of years. A bit of a "natural selection". Fair enough.

I have had clients do things that would have harmed our company or required continual wasted time, I make a point of confronting the individual with their exact offense, as needed moving up their line to try and use communication and facts to resolve it. I also do this with my staff and do not have a high turnover rate.

In most cases they have been very thankful and corrected. It is a voice of reason, I remain calm, I don't blame, I gather ALL data, put facts on the line and let them handle it as they will. We haven't lost a client for over 6 months either by their decision or ours.

Just putting that out there. I see that it is effective and our company is expanding, despite the current economic situation.

I like that quote " I aim to misbehave", I like being a bit of a wild card.
