Thanks for that link, that's a good article. I didn't fully understand the issue with judicial states myself; in my area foreclosures are non-judicial. I wish the article had made clear that in such states (mine at least), the assignments are required to be recorded as part of the public record in the chain of title, so missing assignments/faulty foreclosure will show up on the next title search. Or should, if the abstractor and examiner know what to look for.
