WOW. Now before I read this post I did not even give a thought to the fact that someone could be made to sign a document under durress and the Notary would actually be a ""witness" to that. On a personal level, I would much prefer that the person whose signature I am notarizing is in my presence. I can see how this will generate money for Notaries Public in Virginia, and I really don't begrudge anyone making the best of this ruling for themselves, but.....
