I would laugh out loud at the notion of computer generated titles, particularly at their description of a title "search" if it the situation wasn't so sad overall.
I am beginning to feel like John Henry with his hammer (or whatever the female equivalent would be).
People in cubicles...where are they trained, & how much training to they have?
What about probate checks? Probate records are not online in Massachusetts.
What about squirrelly Registry computer systems - plenty of those in Mass.
What about marginal references that are handwritten in the books & not scanned into the computer system? A pretty common scenario in Mass.
What about Registered Land titles? I would pay good money to watch Uniac take on Middlesex South Registered Land.
This is profit taking for the short run. Who is going to clean up the mess when the mistakes come out?
I could go on and on, but I won't - I actually have some fairly difficult title work to do - (ha ha ha - take that HAL 9000).
