Get at least one a week that is usually for some outlandish project or a commercial property from someone I've never done business with and generally in an area I don't search... I used to look at them and see if it might be an avenue to a new client; however, I stopped doing that and I just reply not interested especially if they aren't a client
If it's from one of my not so routine clients, I do look at it but I don't waste a lot of time and if I give them a range on the fee I explain it's because of either the age or that there are estates. I can count on one hand the number of quotes that turn into orders so I stopped wasting a lot of time on them.
Good luck collecting on the quote fee, if they are looking for the cheapest searcher they are not going to be quote fees.
