As pets age, it's makes more sense to consider pet health care insurance; pick up a flier at a local vet's office, pet store or look online.
Don't forget to change their food too, to meet the dietary needs of an aging animal companion. Puppies need different vitamins than older dogs and vice versa.
Give them vitamin supplements too and keep their food and water dishes clean.
Give them good exercise since it gives YOU good exercise in return.
Make sure their immunizations and heart worm pills and flea treatments are up to date.
A study about 3 years ago suggested that some of the conventional wisdom about pets (cats and dogs specifically) don't catch human viruses is wrong and that our pets may be transmission vectors for the same cold and flu rhinoviruses that we all get, so keep them indoors when its cold and make sure they stay hydrated.
Please, do this since I wanna come back as a dog and have an easy life laying about, barking at mailmen, gnawing on raw hides, and peeing in the garden.... ah, the easy life....
