I find that the biggest problem is that people do not advertise. If you do not get your name out there how is anyone going to know you exist?
My company is small, I have 2 employee's and am a working owner, and I do ALOT of advertising. I sent 5-600 postcards out every 2 weeks (I actually have a company that does this for me), and since I have purchased mailing lists, I also call those lists. I do ALOT of cold calling, have probably made 1000 cold calls over the last 3 months.
All companies have to advertise their services if they want to stay in business.
Its slower now than last year, but I know if I wasn't advertising I would probably be in trouble.
It doesn't cost alot to get post cards printed, I think I paid $1400 to get 40-50,000 printed, then its a matter of buying a mailing list, which costs around $300.00 and then the postage. If you find a mailhouse they can do the whole thing for you. Its cheaper to print a large volume at one time than a smaller amount.
Anyway thats my 2 cents. Advertise, get your name out there, you WILL get new clients from it!
