I agree there is more work involved with the searches these days, but most clients are willing to work with you on "extensive" search fees. There are still allot of "good" searches coming too, so it usually evens out in the end. Guess I am lucky that I have good clients?
With all the people out there losing their homes because they can't find work at all, I would be ashamed of myself if I complained about "shit" work. We are in a recession, getting work BECAUSE the less fortunate are losing their homes at this point...
I take the good with that bad... because I'm happy to have a job at all.
