What Rob fails to mention in this forum is that there was never a payment issue, there was a quality issue. Our readers had encountered numerous QC issues such as missing deed chains, failing to run juds & feds, stating that there were no surrogates and then my clients having to deliver the actual surrogate information. Let me ask you this? Would you charge your client $250 for a search where you admit the abstractor made a tremendous mistake and no one in your office took the time to review the title? On more than 5 occasions, we had to have files re-examined by other well seasoned examiners who actually had the experience and put the title together the right way. First Choice still did the right thing, paid Rob and paid the other examiners and didnt charge our clients because we believe in one thing QUALITY!!! Another experience had was when Rob had a man handling his company while he was vacationing at "camp". I was advised that he did not have the title experience to answer a simple question in regards to a legal description. Now if thats not inexperience, then I dont know what is. To make a long story short, there was never dishonesty, just disappointment in the quality of the work received from this company. There is no making anything tough for abstractors, there is only not delivering a well prepared title abstract. The subject line of this forum should read: CLIENTS BEWARE OF ABSTRACTORS THAT PROMISE QUALITY BUT DELIVER INADEQUATE-BELOW PAR TITLES!!!
