I'm sure F P has made their decision and hope I'm not being intrusive by getting a little off topic.  I also have a Brother 7840W all in one, maybe a year old.  Mine came w/Paperport 11 which will convert files to PDF if you need to (love Paperport but not the version that came w/it -11).  Anyway, the problem I have is streaks on docs I scan.  There is a little scratch on the glass strip.  But I sometimes get multiple streaks.   I notice this occurs when I fax also.  I have to clean the glass strip, etc each time and then scanned copies are just fine. No printing problems at all.  Could it be gel ink I use on abstracts?  Any tips?   Thanks & Merry Christmas!
