Agree with Robert.  In the case of foreclosure the Note should be attached to the complaint.  Alternatively, can you do a look up to see if maybe the Note is owned by Fannie, Freddie, etc?  The foreclosure attorney must certainly have a copy of the Note.  Maybe a call to them would shed some light?
