I am one of many abstractors left unpaid by Four Corners. Around Christmas I received a call from Dorothy advising me that they were now part of Frontier. She also inquired when I expected to finish the last piece of a big, complex three part commercial search. A few days later I called to tell her that I would complete the search upon receipt of payment for the second portion. I got voice mail and never heard from them again.
I was told by another abstractor that attorney Anthony Iacovangelo was going to advise his client, Frank B. Iacovangelo, Esq., the owner of Four Corners, when he got back from his Florida vacation, to pay his sales tax, and then perhaps he could pay his vendors - at a discounted rate!
I reported the above to the appropriate NYS Bar Grievance Committee and was told there was nothing they could do to assist me in obtaining payment. They advised I retain an attorney (job security?).
By the way, a client in that area advised that they hadn't been bought out by Frontier, but "had gone under" and stiffed many abstractors.
