I have commented on this many times over the past decade.  It is either, "we are sending you a lot of work, so you should give us a discount," or "times are slow and we have to cut our costs, so you need to give us discount."  When has anybody ever heard "times are good, we should all make a little money, why don't you raise your prices." 

But, as long as abstractors keep lowering prices, we will see the trend continue.
