The United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut announced that MOHAMMED N. ISLAM, also known as “Tanveer,” 39, was sentenced Dec 29 for participating in a mortgage fraud scheme that involved dozens of properties in Fairfield County and cost lenders more than $8,000,000.

News India Times reported ISLAM as Connecticut man of Indian origin when he pleaded guilty to to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bank fraud in June 2014.
