Allen who in the heck told you oil and gas landman didn't have to know why they are pulling certain documents, etc.?  Truth be known, landman not only have to know the documents they have to know a lot of case law, analyze the legal content of each of the documents, etc.  Now having said that there are some people that have been hired by brokers who knew nothing and therefore just do what they think and do have no clue as to reason and that is why they don't understand everything.  Those brokers usually end up being fired from the O&G companies.  Also, your pricing doesn't represent all the states, as I could argue the span of pricing is relatively low.
