There is a glitch in their system that they have posted an informational instruction in Butler Co because they apparently cant fix it, but I'm not seeing it when I go to other counties that have the Kofile program. The few counties I have checked have the same glitch so I don't know why they are not posting the informational instruction on all of their counties. This glitch does not happen with search programs that have 2 lines to put the names into. One line for the last name and another line for the first name or a few letters of the first name. The problem shows up when you search a last name space first few letters of the first name. Smith Mary for instance. If Mary took title as Mary Smith then got married and hyphenated her name Smith-Barnes then if you run just Smith Ma you will not find the hyphenated name even if you scroll to the bottom of the list. The only way to find that name is to use what is called a wild card in the search. Smith* Ma    This brings up Smith along with any hyphenated or whatever after it and anything that has Ma in it after that. You do have to scroll to the bottom of the list in order to find them but at least they are there. I don't know about the rest of you but I'm running into a lot more hyphenated names than I ever used to and with same sex marriages and the new generation that will get more diversified and creative. There is a company in my area that has @ as part of the name. I sent Kofile an email regarding this issue but never got an answer back. If your running names in the Kofile system you should always use a wild card after the last name if your even putting a few letters in for the first name. If its an odd enough name that you can just run the last name then you will find the hyphenated etc names at the bottom of the list.

I also asked what was the purpose of all the check marks on their screen. I don't need a program that already puts a check mark into the box. Yes, I can click on the box at the top of that column and get rid of the check marks but why should I have to do that?
