The history of this part of the world has always fascinated me. Even more so after I started digging through the old dusty records at the court houses. Once in Floyd County I found a record of documenting my great - grandfather's mule.

I've also been amazed at the people who lived in these small rural counties and what they achieved. I'm working on documenting some of these for the internet. I only have a few counties so far but here is the one for Lubbock County if you have an interest. You may see some folks you recognize.
