The confirmation has all the information on it, as well as where they were closing which wasn't the property in the different county, a new location, and phone numbers to contact the borrower. As well as the address and all the contact info for the title co, and special instructions which weren't included and wasn't even in the package,

As far as thinking outside the box, I do it everyday. I have been in this industry for many years performing all facets of title and, no I'm not just a notary with a stamp. And you're right. The borrower/buyer is paying the bill. The last thing anyone wants to do is to have to have them come back and re-sign because information is omitted or assumed. Such as funds to close. I can't tell you the number of times I have had to go out on a second time and correct files because the signing agent previously had goofed. Not to mention the screwing up of deeds and vesting.

I had one the other day where the borrower was a long haul trucker in Chicago, his mother was trying to coordinate in Montana and I found this out the morning of the closing. I woke her up. Because no one updated the file saying he was out of town, put the phone numbers in the right place and read the notes to schedule with him along his route back to Florida. And his lock was expiring that day. It's communication. I think we just need more of it.  So it's not just bureaucracy.
