Dear fellow abstractors:
Yes, it's me, who did the rant AGAINST unnecessary phone calls awhile ago. (See subject line "Phone calls.")
Now I need to rant about the opposite extreme. When you have a client -- ESPECIALLY a vendor manager like so many of us out here; a vendor manager who also abstracts -- who asks repeatedly for an eta status on an order that is DAYS outstanding, for the love of the goddess of title work, ANSWER US.
YOU WILL NOT ONLY COST YOURSELVES WORK, YOU WILL HURT EVERYONE UNDER THE UMBRELLAS OF THAT VENDOR MANAGER.
Ignoring repeated requests for "where's this order?" is unprofessional and uncalled for. I lose a client and it costs not only ME money, it costs you any future work because believe me, you'll be blacklisted faster than I can type the word blacklisted and I type 110 wpm.
To all of you out there (and that's most of you) who DO respond, THANK YOU. It is always appreciated and noted. I won't bug you unless I have to. I hope you know that.
