If there is no unfair advantage that is afforded the business, then it really doesn't matter. Their searchers are accessing the records the same way as everyone else, with no hold-backs on information, no false advertising stating that their company is better at abstracting due to the owner of the company being the County Recorder
In many states a real estate broker, can own a title agency, a mortgage company, P&C insurance company, etc.
