The Title Report has just posted an article asking "Are Title Plants Still Relevant?"
As an "old timer" and one who often gets involved only when title issues appear, it seems that most title agencies are not looking to find and solve problems, but would rather simply issue a Letter of Indemnity and hope that the problem doesn't rear it's ugly head again until the statute of limitations runs out.
Knowing that many title agencies are searching back an owner or two, often running from the last title policy issued, and rarely looking at a chain of title, what are your thoughts about the relevance of lengthy title plants?
