A Defective Mortgage on Registered Land in a Bankruptcy

In a bankruptcy, the bankruptcy trustee has broad powers to avoid mortgages that are invalidly recorded. But does the same power apply to mortgages on registered land, where there is an official certificate of title indicating that the land title office has accepted the defective mortgage as valid?
