Definitely send a demand letter demanding payment by a specified date. Draft the letter with duplicate originals with your original signature on both.  You may need to introduce it as evidence at trial. Send one duplicate original to your delinquent client. by certified mail return receipt requested. Attach the return receipts to your duplicate original of the demand letter for evidence at trial. You will probably need to introduce copies of the orders you received for each abstract you completed.

If you are within the jurisdiction of your small claims court file your case. Otherwise you may need to file the case in Superior Court. By all means hire an attorney if the need arises.
