After carefully thinking about it a few days, I thought that I should clarify something. What I am going to say next was not due to any response that I have received back from anyone at all from my last posted response to this thread. My initial post and response was not intended to offend anyone from the foreign sector. I come from a first generation American whose family came here through Ellis Island and by way of Canada. My mother's family has been here for generations. I am all for global commerce and trade. However, what concerns me is the security of information not intended for everyone, "breach of confidentiality". Not everything should be "up for sale". I agree that we should not just outsource to anyone without knowing the ramifications and domino effect that it produces. I have a problem with those that have to omit the truth as to who they are and what their intentions are to get that information and do any kind of business. It smacks of dishonesty. There was a phrase that I learned a long time ago in a communications law class in college. "The decision not to decide is to already have decided." We have privacy laws for a reason. There is also a reason that at almost all closings, i.e. purchase, refi, or whatever, that they give the seller/buyer/borrower, a copy of the Title Agent's/Underwrighter's Privacy policy. It's there for a reason. If that is a standard portion of the end result of all the efforts, the closing, then as an industry we should all try to honor that. I just don't want to be misconstrued. Just my two cents.
