A couple of links on what Memorial Day is really all about.
I have had numerous members of my family serve in the Armed Forces in numerous conflicts back to WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and others. I will be soon be gaining a son-in-law that is in the Army. I have never served but was a KC Police Officer for seven years so I can relate to what it would be like to lay you life on the line on a daily basis even for those who hate and despise you.
I have gone up to Service Members in the airport and shaken their hands and thank them for their service. At first they were somewhat weary of my intentions but then they understood and a grin spread across their face. They are facing the giants to benefit us and others across the globe.
Read the links and if you get the chance thank a Service Member for their sacrifice and their service.
