It's encouraging to see that some of the challenges stem from the existing system itself rather than a lack of effort. I personally visited one of the counties in North Carolina and asked a similar question about their legacy systems versus the growing excitement around AI. What I heard from the staff gave me a different perspective:
"Our first responsibility is to protect our citizens. Because of that, our records can never be made publicly available."
That response was surprisingly insightful and helped me better understand the priorities. Regardless, thank you for continuing the important work of protecting communities and safeguarding the nation from fraudulent property transactions.
