I don't know if this is happening in other states. It isn't happening with all of my clients either but many of them aren't in SC.

I'm having clients adding to my job lately. They ask for indexes... that never happened before last summer. Some of them even want me to get copies of POAs dated after the land was sold when none of the documents were signed by a POA.

They are now asking me if the current owner doesn't have a mortgage, to go back to the previous owners and get a copy of their mortgage and the satisfaction. I had to go back to the 1950s, three owners back, even though I was only doing a current owner search. They just started this around Thanksgiving.

My question is... Should I raise my prices? It takes more time, and for us, time is money. I know there are abstractors around here who undercut us any chance they get so I can't ask anyone here.

 What do you think?
