When I was abstracting, our commercial searches started at $250 and if it was particularly complicated we quoted a price that was very roughly based on our estimated time involved at $40 per hour. It was always such a wild guess that I don't think I could even guess what an average price was.  
It is also notable that we are not in a heavily developed urban center, so most of the commercial searches we got were not terrible.  We didn't see a lot of complicated leases, party wall agreements, easements, or creative financing  deals.  I think location could have a large impact on average prices.
