Dear Billie:
I know North Carolina is an attorney state. That's probably the reason why - despite everything from 1966 on being online in some counties, we're still frantically scrambling to keep up here in North Carolina. No shortage of work here! However, I am seeing less from my companies and more from attorneys. The fact is, I think some of the companies that do the REOs and the foreclosures are just not that busy right now. I am super thankful for the clients that I have now - but I know living in an attorney state gives one a definite edge. Georgia is not an attorney state, and that's where I learned to do title. I hear from many abstractors there that work is slim. However, Iit is my firm belief that there will always be companies and attorneys who appreciate good, clear title work.
I don't have a list - can only speak to my state. :)
