Hi Ben, interesting topic! I represent a software platform made for Abstractors (and we don't do Abstracting ourselves) - our software, RDS, enables texting order updates.
Be aware that there are plenty of requirements and nuances that come with texting as a business function. Various mobile service providers have become quite restrictive as texting has proliferated, and with it, unfortunately, the unwanted spam and phishing too. Some mobile service providers are easier to work with than others.
What we have found at RDS is that our Users, specifically those that are in-field, boots-on-the-ground, find mobile work a non-issue and texting not a necessity. This is because RDS is fully mobile - enabled. We have one long-time User that does all her search work remotely - and has only used RDS on her mobile devices, never a desktop PC.
That has been our experience over the last 7+ years!
