Slade, you raise some very good points, and I certainly agree that this congress and the Bush administration have done more than their share of politically motivated spending. I must, however, reiterate my point that tax rate cuts stimulate economic growth, resulting in increased revenue to the treasury. It's like having a sale on economic activity. The tax cuts of the 80's would have resulted in a balanced budget if not for the fact that congress spent $1.34 for every dollar of "new" revenue they took in.

So, while I am with you on the spending side of the equation, I believe that letting people keep more of what they've earned is by far the better way to go. I'd rather let YOU decide how to spend your hard-earned $$ than the feds.
