I agree with what's already been said about needing experience in this business before anyone tries to go solo. I am AMAZED at some of the people in my area who have become independants and don't really know what they are doing. And don't seem to care that they don't know enough. If only the companies they did work for knew how little they really know. I know some abstractors who have been searching for 20 years and still come across new things sometimes. I am hoping that the slowdown in business will eventually convince some of these inexperienced people to find another source of income, and leave this business to those who care about the work they produce, and are in it for the long run.
