"It Ain't Slander If It's True" - Jan Forster

I had the same experience with a company on the HOT list. It is the nature of our business. We are an external component of many of these companies. As you know from childhood bouts- The one to blame is the one that isn't there to defend themselves. Whenever an order gets misplaced, left on someone's desk, not entered into the computer....we will get the blame. I was dealing with an employee of a hot list company that I had faxed a completed order to half a dozen times. The sixth time I included five previous confirmation reports. I later learned that the employee had been let go but not before he removed us from the active list. Several calls back to company assured us that we had been put back on. We were previously doing 15 orders per week for them and now 0 for the past two months. It is a terrible position that we are in. Unfortunately, we control nothing. We are not in a position to place demand or ultimatums on these companies. We are dependent on their orders. That sucks. It has been an issue that has plagued me from the time I entered this field. Demands are being placed on us by someone sitting at a desk that has little or no experience in regards to titles. Yesterday, I spent 10 minutes explaining what a discharge was to someone on the other end of a long distance cell call.
$50.00 present owner
- $ 5.00 long distance cell call
- $ 1.00 deed copy included in price
- $ 1.00 fax charge/ no 800 number
- $ 5.00 gas
- $ 5.00 E&O approximate allocation

I'm sure you can find any number of other expense allocations but you get the point. We need to stick to our prices and stop the trend. This was a somewhat non-cohesive rant from a frustrated puppet.
