Very good point. We aren't allowed to use them in all the counties we cover either. The claim that they damage the books is ridiculous. You don't even have to take the book apart. You just roll the scanner down the page. I have seen pages damaged from taking the books apart and getting mangled in document feeders at the courthouse.

The DocuPen is safe, but I understand that the counties are grasping at straws to capture all that revenue they take in from copies.

It is a very good idea to find out if you will be allowed to use it before making a purchase.
