Hey Glenda, try your state's title association. The Tennesse Land Title Association is at www.tnlta.com, or tnlta@bellsouth.net, or 615-4531440. I know of no state that requires it but it is a good idea to protect yourself. If that doesn't help try your state's licensing agency, I know most states don't have a license for abstractors, save Missouri and another state or two, but they do license title companies. They should also give you the answer you are looking for. Jay
