I gotta respond to this. I am a North Carolinian living in South Carolina. John Edwards has roots in both North and South Carolina. My OB/GYN in SC claims that the medical field will not endorse him because he has made his millions on malpractice suits against doctors. A lot of NC people believe that he only went to Washington as a stepping stone to the Presidency. He has not been very effective as a senator yet. During his watch, the textile and furniture manufacturers have left NC for overseas. He is running on the campaign of keeping US jobs from going overseas but he couldn't do that in NC. He sort of snuck in there to win the Senator race so watch out America he will sneek in again and become our leader. I am for Bush though. My husband claims that he will vote for Edwards because he is from NC. We will see.

Watch out for Wes Clark. He is running on raising the minimum wage to $7.00 a hour. Does that mean that we get to raise our pay accordingly? If the minimum wage goes up so does the cost of products.

In my county, Georgetown, SC, the steel mill closed three months ago. The mill was in financial trouble for the last four years. Two years ago a man bought the mill and tried to put new life in it. He asked the workers to vote for a 10% wage cut. They rejected his proposal. He explained it to them again and took a second vote. The workers voted no in November and he closed the mill. Now there are 500 plus workers out of a job. No money to buy or mortgage properties.

Sounds like our industry asking us to take a 10% wage cut.
