In Maryland, I am not required to be a licensed abstractor but Maryland law (effective Feb. 1, 2004) has now forced me to be licensed, bonded and insured notary closer.
I think this is a good thing, even though, it costed
me a small fortune to get licensed. I also think that it would be good for abstractors to be licensed to prove that they know what they are doing, since there are some who don't.
