Is that even possible? I'd love to see alternatives, but when small companies pop up overnight and offer rock-bottom prices, it's hard to tell which to despise first - the company who dropped you or a fellow searcher who encouraged it.

A friend of mine was successful in running one such company out of business in NC. When they offered $25 searches he just began forwarding all of his work to them under a new company name and encouraged everyone else to do the same - then went to the beach for a long weekend. He then billed his regular fee, called to personally thank the 'rock-bottom' company, and knowing they were overwhelmed and had been outsmarted, they disappeared.
